It looks like I got away with my mistakes from last week - I left the catalyst out of the gel-coat!
The correctly catalysed layers of chopped strand mat managed to also cure the gel-coat. The result isn't pretty, especially as I also forgot the surface tissue in some areas. (In the picture below, you can clearly see the fibreglass strands.) It is, however, structurally sound for use as the air boot. It will require a bit of gel-coat filler to make it look presentable.
A view of the other side. This looks better, because I also managed to remember to use the surface tissue on this side!
A bit of trimming and the carb rubber is in place.
Air box has also been trimmed - and it fits!
An inside view.
The air box mounting points receive some extra reinforcement.
There may be little progress on this project next week, because I've just had a delivery of parts for the Corsarino...
Just as predicted, this week has been spent on the Corsarino, and you can probably also predict that things didn't go to plan...

More work on the Corsarino this week - I'm desperate to actually get to ride it! As usual, you can see more of this week's progress on the Corsarino's page.
