It’s been a long while since I’ve written an update of what’s been happening in the garage and in the case of the project bike, absolutely nothing has been happening. Elsewhere, quite a lot has been going on:-
Another shed has sprung up in the garden, this took up a fair bit of time as the chosen area had quite a slope which needed to be accommodated. It’s now up (although I still have to coat the outside with the expensive Sadolin paint) and already starting to be filled with stuff - stuff that I now need to sort out.
The shed came packed on a substantial pallet which was recycled and used to reinforce an old shelving unit which has now become a fairly robust workbench.
The Royal Enfield Hunter has had its first service ( for more details click the picture below). This little bike, despite its modest power output, is becoming quite a favourite. The SRX, so long my go to machine, is feeling a little unloved now.
I’ve also finally solved the mystery black ring around the rear tyre of the Hunter. To find the answer, click on the picture.
The SRX did get a little bit of attention in the form of another new speedo. Usually it is fitted with a cheap bicycle speedo, but these never last very long, so when the old one died I decided to upgrade. Unfortunately after looking at the prices, cheapskate me went for another bicycle speedo. You can read more about that by clicking the picture.
For a little light relief I visited Woolpit Steam Rally although the number of old bikes present this year was a little disappointing. Again, more pics of the bikes can be found by clicking on the picture.
And finally, to make more room in the garage, and after a bit of jiggling to get it in,the Ibiis GS500 has become a feature in the living room.
